by George MacDonald
The Princess and the Goblin audiobook by George MacDonald invites you into a world where a young princess faces a cunning goblin plot—right from the first page, the story feels alive and urgent.
The narrative unfolds in a kingdom where the line between myth and reality blurs. The princess, innocent yet fiercely determined, must outwit a band of goblins who threaten her realm. Their motives—greed, revenge, and a twisted sense of justice—create a psychological chess game that keeps the listener on edge.
MacDonald’s prose is a gentle yet sharp mirror of human frailty and courage. The goblins’ crude, guttural speech contrasts with the princess’s hopeful, lyrical tone, revealing deeper themes of faith, sacrifice, and the power of belief in a world that often feels hostile.
The listening experience is enriched by a cast of varied narrators. Each voice shifts the mood—warm, husky, or bright—bringing characters to life and turning the tale into an intimate, almost whispered adventure. Stream this free audiobook on Unodio and let the story settle into your day.

I kept pausing to think about what I just heard. That's the mark of a good book for me — when it makes you stop and actually reflect. The Princess and the Goblin did that consistently.
Not a single chapter felt like filler. George MacDonald respects your time and delivers value throughout. Went in expecting decent, came out genuinely impressed.
There are books you finish and forget. Then there are books like The Princess and the Goblin that you keep going back to mentally. This is the second kind. Brilliant.
My partner overheard me listening and ended up sitting down with me for the rest of it. We're both still talking about it. That's not nothing.
