Every chapter had me wanting more

I wasn't prepared for how emotionally involved I'd get. Charles Dickens writes people — not characters. There's a difference and you feel it here.

The ending got me — unexpected and perfect

The plot twists in this are genuinely clever. Not cheap surprises — the kind that make you replay earlier chapters in your head and realise the signs were there all along.

Real talk — this book is underrated

Started this on a quiet Sunday afternoon and didn't stop until well past midnight. A Christmas Carol is gripping in the best way — tension built slowly, released perfectly.

So relatable it felt personal

What makes A Christmas Carol work is the small details. The way secondary characters behave, the atmosphere of each scene — it all adds up to something that feels completely alive.
