Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832 – 1898), better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll, was an English author, poet, mathematician, inventor, and photographer. He is celebrated worldwide for his children's fiction masterpieces Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass (1871).
Born in Daresbury, Cheshire, Carroll served as a mathematics tutor at Christ Church, Oxford. His facility with wordplay, symbolic logic, and surreal fantasy created beloved characters like the White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, and Queen of Hearts.
